Dear friends,

Many of you have heard and seen how our country, Chile, has been devestated by a massive earthquake followed by a tsunami on the 27th of February 2010.
During 10 days I have visited a major part of the affected area between LloLleo and Concepcion. I brought food, water, clothes, diapers and a lot of love to the affected families.
After witnessing the devastated area (a size of about 550km) I have decided to engage myself in a very ambitious project. Our goals can only be achieved with the help of several generous individuals.
Interdesign, Ochoalcubo, the architectural office of Sebastian Irarrazaval and several other architects have mutually decided to develop a project to offer help to a village by the coast between the Seventh and Eighth Region of Chile (350kms south of Santiago) which has been devastated by the earthquake and subsequently, the Tsunami.

Our goal is to anew offer these people a livable residence and existence. Our concern is to find suitable architecture for the selected area.

We have decided to develop a group of 8 units consisting of:

1 kindergarten of 88 M2 + 7 houses of 35 M2 with possibilities to expand.
In total this makes 333 M2 with a total cost of US$ 160.000 or € 120.000

With the intention to build a maximum number of units we need the generous help of friends and volunteers. With the contribution of 1 m2, more or a fraction thereof we can offer help to the people affected by the earthquake/tsunami.
